Forestal Scores 2 More Goals as No. 7 Chargers Win 3-0 at McHenry Co.

CRYSTAL LAKE — Jean Forestal (Ocoee, Fla./Ocoee) scored twice and added an assist as the No. 7 Carl Sandburg College men’s soccer team tallied three second-half goals in a 3-0 victory at McHenry County on Wednesday afternoon.

The Chargers (12-2 overall, 9-2 Region IV) won their third in a row and for the sixth time in the last seven games after breaking open a scoreless game at halftime. Forestal converted a penalty in the 65th minute for the game’s initial goal, and he assisted on a goal by Santiago Palacio (Cali, Colombia/Colegio La Arboleda) in the 75th minute for a 2-0 Sandburg lead. Forestal added his second score of the match in the 77th minute off an assist from Mason Martinez (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg).

Forestal now has 22 goals on the season, the most in NJCAA Division II, and his 46 points on the year rank second in the country. Forestal has scored in seven consecutive games, and Wednesday was his fifth multi-goal effort during that stretch, which includes 13 goals overall.

Keeper Ben Hilton (West Sussex, England/Crawley Town Academy) kept a clean sheet for the third straight match for Sandburg, extending his streak without conceding a goal to 270 minutes.
